OUR STORY

TRADITION EXPERIENCE GENERATION

Our story

Paddy Joe and Patsy Foy started with 3 stables at the back of the home house with Connemara ponies. The stud moved to its present site in 1970 where initially stood Connemara stallions, then Arabians, Thoroughbreds and Irish Draughts.

Horses and ponies were bought , trained and sold worldwide. Initially 6 stables, a hay barn and an outdoor arena were developed. Over the years this has evolved with the addition of a 16 stable American style barn, tack room, wash bay, viewing area, office, gallop track and indoor arena. In later years a round pen, pony pens and horse walker were added.

Can not recommend this place enough. Kids loved it, everything so safe and well organised. Only take one small group at a time in compliance with government regulations. Padraig and his daughters do a fantastic job. Lovely family run business.

I brought my 6 year old for her first taste of ponyriding where I learned to ride as a kid. Apart from upgraded facilities nothing has changed. Padraic and his team take excellent care of the horses and match each rider to the correct temperment of pony. Highly recommend and next time we are in Westport we will be booking in again. Very happy with price and experience!

Fantastic Family Time. Lovely stables with well looked after ponies & horses. Our daughters (8 & 10yrs) were complete beginners on lead reins but felt at ease for the whole ride. Owners very friendly & professional. We will be back!
